Q. When is it time for Sexual Healing

A.We cannot deny that our body image plays a large part in our attitude about sexuality. We live in a very sexual world; sex seems to be everywhere. It is used to sell videos, magazines, records, and movies. In a subliminal way, sex is used to sell everything from vacuums to boats. These images cause confusion and frustration when identifying what being a woman means to you.

How often do you look in the mirror and say, "If I could just lose 100 pounds, 50 pounds or 10 pounds, then I would be happy." Unfortunately, the majority of American women are dissatisfied with their bodies, and many take extreme measures in an attempt to change them. For example, one study found that 63 percent of female participants identified weight as the key factor in determining how they felt about themselves. It is more important than family, school, or career. Women regard size, much like weight, as a definitive element of their identity.

Who you are as individuals, a partner, and a member of society. Open communication about sexuality can only enhance feelings of intimacy and understanding in our relationships. Many are inhibited and ashamed when it comes to open, frank discussions on this subject.

Sexuality is something to be explored and discovered -- as well as the rest of your being. Your sexuality is an intimate part of you that takes on a life of its own, when you create a positive, healthy attitude about yourselves, your bodies, and this whole connection to your being.


Here are examples of ways you can love your body:

Affirm that your body is perfect just the way it is. For health purposes, you may need to lose weight, but while on the journey think of your body as a tool. Walk with your head high and have pride and confidence in yourself as a person, not a size.

Don't let your size keep you from doing things you enjoy. Replace the time you spend criticizing your appearance with more positive, satisfying pursuits. Let your inner beauty and individuality shine. Think back to a time in your life when you liked and enjoyed your body. Get in touch with those feelings now.


Be your body's ally and advocate, not its enemy. Beauty is not just skin-deep. It is a reflection of your whole self. Love and enjoy the person inside.

Having a negative image of the physical body is a serious problem that has damaging effects on a woman's self-esteem, and it can lead to depression, as well as an eating disorder. Changing our world starts with you practicing self-love and respect, and the end of prejudice starts with one person at a time. what about the other 37% who are happy in their skin care to comment on that. I do have to say that i totally agree with what you are saying in the article,but u must address the 37% of woman that are completely comfortable in their skin it is frustrating for some and not for others
